AREA INFORMATION
Big Sky isn’t the only gem in the Treasure State. There are many other must-see attractions in Montana, and most are short drives from your property in Moonlight Basin. If your looking for more slopes to test your skills, Bridger Bowl is another great ski resort and can be found just 59 miles northeast, while the famed Yellowstone Club, the world’s first private ski resort, lies on the other side of Lone Mountain. Despite all the mountains surrounding you, Montana has much more to offer than just skiing.
Drive south 55 miles and you’ll arrive in West Yellowstone where you can enjoy great shopping, fine dining and gain access to Yellowstone National park via the West Entrance. Take Hwy 20 out of West Yellowstone and in 62 scenic miles you’ll find yourself in Jackson Hole. Closer to home, the quaint town of Ennis sits in the breathtaking Madison Valley just 30 miles west of Big Sky, while historic Virginia City, birthplace of Montana, is a mere 12 mile drive from there.
After enjoying all the wildlife and natural beauty that Southwest Montana has to offer you may get the itch for a more urban setting. You’re in luck, for Bozeman is 45 miles to the south. Take a stroll down Main Street and enjoy some of the finest shops and restaurants in the Northwest. Take I-90 west out of Bozeman and in 90 miles exit into historic Butte, or keep going another 130 miles and you will arrive in Missoula. Both of these communities have their own unique characters, and both boast fine shopping and dining while still offering a sense of the laid back Montana lifestyle. With so much to see and do, it would take a lifetime to experience all that the “Last Best Place” has to offer.
